Many common issues can be resolved without requiring extensive internal repairs. It's not because I find it aesthetically pleasing, but because its x-height and clear letterforms ensure legibility for an older audience on a mobile screen. The reason that charts, whether static or interactive, work at all lies deep within the wiring of our brains. This meant that every element in the document would conform to the same visual rules. This has led to the now-common and deeply uncanny experience of seeing an advertisement on a social media site for a product you were just looking at on a different website, or even, in some unnerving cases, something you were just talking about.
