However, the complexity of the task it has to perform is an order of magnitude greater. The budget constraint forces you to be innovative with materials. This act of visual encoding is the fundamental principle of the chart. They wanted to see the details, so zoom functionality became essential. Yet, when complexity mounts and the number of variables exceeds the grasp of our intuition, we require a more structured approach.
